Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ Jesus:
I hope that this short message finds you well and that your spiritual and physical health are getting stronger every day. Gradually, we are approaching the end of the liturgical year, and it is time to begin to examine if we grew in our inner life or did not. I know that this year has been challenging because of everything we have lived through, and we continue to live, but I am sure that thanks to God’s goodness and mercy, we have overcome the fear, doubt, and sadness that all this has brought us. I want to invite all of you to practice what the Gospel of this Sunday tells us, “keep the lamps burning,” and with enough oil to continue fighting with the faith and grace of God and not let ourselves faint. Hopefully, this pandemic will soon pass, but our faith has to become more substantial and solid. Hopefully, we make this pandemic a ladder to go up to heaven.
I want to thank you for your support for the Capital Campaign allowing the reconstruction of some areas of our Sanctuary; that support has already begun to bear fruit. As you may have realized in the last week of October, we installed a new and modern sound system. Now we can understand the Word of God more clearly. We have also already installed the new altar lights. Many bulbs were burned out for many years, and now we can enjoy the beauty of our altar. Many of you have told me that you enjoy the beauty of the altar more and that you had not realized how big and beautiful it was. These projects are just the first part of many. I inform you that the ceiling and the Sanctuary walls’ painting will begin in the coming weeks. The architects have also advised me to change the Apostles’ background color to a lighter color; the purple makes the altar look opaque and less vibrant. I’m working on this new project to give more life and beauty to our Lord’s house. I hope you support me. I look forward to furthering improvements.
Changing the subject a bit, we have already started working on the Christmas activities, which are less than two months away. I know it will be different this year, but it will be like that only if we allow ourselves to be won over by pessimism and fear. We are getting ready for our first Christmas Festival on December 19 in the Church parking lot from 5 to 10 pm. We will have a live nativity, a petting zoo, live Christmas caroling, a bonfire, and food. The purpose is to make our children and also ourselves as adults, for a moment, stop to contemplate the manger of Jesus and forget about this challenging situation. Please mark your calendar now because it will be a special day for everyone.
Finally, this week we received a message from our bishop regarding the celebrations of Masses for Christmas. I would like you to consider if you plan to participate because depending on the number that attends, this will be the number of Masses that we will schedule. The objective is that everyone who wishes to attend can participate and that together we contemplate and meditate on the birth of Jesus. Therefore, three weeks before Christmas, you will receive more details about it.
I ask you to pray for us; leading the parish in these times is not easy, but I know that you support us with your prayers.

Queridos hermanos en Cristo Jesús:
Espero que este corto mensaje les encuentre bien, y que su salud tanto espiritual como corporal este cada día mejor. Poco a poco nos vamos acercando al final del año litúrgico, y es tiempo de comenzar a auto examinarnos si crecimos en nuestra vida interior o no lo hicimos. Sé que este año ha sido difícil por todo lo que hemos vivido y seguimos viviendo pero estoy seguro que gracias a la bondad y misericordia de Dios hemos vencido el miedo, la duda y las tristezas que todo esto nos ha traído. Quiero invitarles a todos a practicar lo que el evangelio de este domingo nos dice, “mantener las lámparas encendidas” y con suficiente aceite para seguir luchando con la fe y la gracia de Dios y no dejarnos desfallecer. Esta pandemia pasara y esperemos que pronto, pero nuestra fe tiene que volverse más fuerte y sólida. Ojala hagamos de esta pandemia una escalera para subir al cielo.
Quiero agradecer el apoyo a la Campaña Capital para la reconstrucción de algunas áreas de nuestro templo, ese apoyo ya ha comenzado a dar frutos; como se han podido dar cuenta en la última semana de octubre instalamos un nuevo y modernos sistema de sonido, ahora podemos entender con más claridad la palabra de Dios. También ya hemos instalados las nuevas luces del altar, que habían estado quemadas por muchos años, ahora podemos disfrutar de la belleza de nuestro altar; muchos de ustedes me han comentado que disfrutan más lo bello del altar y que no se habían dado cuenta de tan grande y bello es. Este solo es una primera parte de todo eso. Les informo que en las próximas semanas se iniciara la pintura del cielo y las paredes del templo; también los arquitectos me han aconsejado cambiar el fondo de las imágenes de los apóstoles a un color más claro, el morado que tiene hace que el altar se vea más triste, estoy trabajando en eso, para darle más vida y belleza a la casa de nuestro Señor. Espero que me apoyen, viendo hacia delante en las mejorías que se buscan.
Cambiando un poco de tema, ya hemos comenzado a trabajar en las actividades de navidad, que está a menos de dos meses para celebrarse; sé que será diferente este año y será así, solo si nosotros nos dejamos ganar por el pesimismo y el miedo. Estoy preparando un festival de Navidad, esto será el 19 de diciembre frente al templo, será de 5 a 10pm, pondremos un pesebre viviente, con animales de verdad, tendremos un Pedie Zoo y música navideña en vivo; el objetivo es hacer que nuestros niños y también nosotros adultos, por un momento nos detengamos a contemplar el pesebre de Jesús y nos olvidemos de esta difícil situación, póngalo ya en su calendario porque será un día especial para todos.
Finalmente, esta semana recibimos de nuestro obispo un mensaje con respecto a las celebraciones de las misas en Navidad. Me gustaría que fueran considerando si piensan participar, porque dependiendo del número que asistan así será el número de misas que programaremos, el objetivo es poderles atender y que juntos contemplemos y meditemos el nacimiento de Jesús. En las tres semanas previas a la Navidad recibirán más detalles al respecto.
Les pido que oren por nosotros, llevar la parroquia en estos tiempos no es nada fácil, pero se que ustedes nos apoyan con sus oraciones.
