Dear brothers and sisters:
We are celebrating the Second Sunday in Ordinary Time. This time is called the time of hope, which is why the priest dresses in green. This Sunday, John the Baptist solemnly shows us how to follow the Lamb of God, the one who takes away the sins of the world; with this, John invites us not to remain stagnant but to look to the Lord and not to lose heart. Precisely today more than ever, we need to put our gaze on Jesus so that this strong storm that we are going through right now smoothes and be-comes less dark. Let us not get tired of following the Lamb of God through sacramental life and personal prayer.
As you know, the pandemic has hurt in all aspects, one of them being economical. Our school is not financially well, and the parish is also a bit tight in its budget. To solve this situation a bit, I have decided to host a parish car raffle. In previous years, we joined this activity through All Saints parish, but the profit received was minimal, and it was mostly used in the administra-tive part of this activity. We researched and discovered that we could gain more if we do a raffle just for the parish. The school and the parish will work together, and the profit will be divided between the school and the parish. I want to ask if one of you knows someone who will be willing to donate a new car for the raffle or that knows/has contact with a car dealer that can give us a car at least at half price or with a good discount. This would help us to have a better profit. If someone wants to support us with the raffle, I ask that you please contact me directly or contact the parish office as soon as possible to start these pro-cedures. The idea is to hold the raffle in June of this year.
Also, at the end of the month, the March for Life will take place. I know that the pro-life committee is preparing for it, but as we already know, this year, everything is different. It is crucial to support this movement, but we must also be clear that it is some-what dangerous. That day, we will expose the Most Holy Sacrament all day, and we will pray for life and the end of abortion. I invite you to come and spend time in prayer in our sanctuary with Jesus as your way of supporting this activity. However, if someone wants more information about the March, I ask you to contact Larry Cirignano; he will provide you with more details about it.
As you have noticed, we replaced the yellow tape with nice looking white cord for Christmas because many did not like the yellow tape. Unfortunately, the blue masking tape and the tape holding the pew clips need replacement weekly. The tape is destroyed over the weekend because many are not careful or let children play with it. I ask you to please not remove or tear the blue tape because every week we have to change it and it takes hours of work and extra material expenses. Please re-spect the marked areas; it is for your protection. I’m asking you this out of charity for the many brothers and sisters struggling with this situation.

Queridos hermanos y hermanas
Estamos celebrando el Segundo domingo del tiempo ordinario, este tiempo es llamado tiempo de la esperanza por eso el sacerdote se viste de color verde. Este domingo, Juan el Bautista nos muestra de manera muy seria a seguir el cordero de Dios, el que quita el pecado del mundo, con ello Juan nos invita a no quedarnos estancados sino a poner la mirada en el se-ñor y a no desfallecer; precisamente hoy más que nunca necesitamos poner nuestra mirada en Jesus para que esta dura tormenta que vivimos sea más suave y menos oscura. No nos cansemos de seguir al cordero de Dios a través de la vida sa-cramental y oración personal.
Como saben la pandemia ha hecho daño en todos los aspectos y uno de ellos es la parte económica, nuestra escuela no está bien financieramente y la parroquia también va un poco apretada en su presupuesto, para solventar un poco esta situación he decido realizar la rifa de un carro, en los años anteriores nos uníamos a esta actividad que la parroquia de Todos los San-tos realiza, pero la ganancia que se recibía era bien mínima y mucho de esta quedaba en la parte administrativa de esta acti-vidad, haciendo números hemos descubierto que podemos ganar el doble si nos proponemos como parroquia a desarrollarla bien. Juntos, escuela y parroquia trabajaremos y las ganancias las dividiremos en ambos lugares. Quiero pedir si uno de uste-des conoce a alguien que desee donar un carro nuevo para la rifa o que uno de los dealers nos lo venda a mitad de precio o con un buen descuento, esto nos ayudaría a tener una mejor ganancia, si alguien desea apoyar esta actividad les pido por favor se comuniquen con migo directamente o con la oficina parroquial lo antes posible para iniciar con estos trámites, la idea es realizar la rifa para junio de este año.
También este mes es la marcha por la vida, sé que el comité pro-vida se está preparando para ello, pero como ya sabemos las cosas este año todo es diferente, es importante apoyar este movimiento pero también hay que tener claro que es un tan-to peligroso, ese día expondremos el santísimo sacramento todo el día y oraremos por el respeto a la vida y por el fin del aborto, les invito a que vengan y pasen un tiempo en oración en nuestro templo con Jesús eucaristía en apoyo a esta activi-dad, si alguno desea tener más información sobre la marcha les pido que se comuniquen Larry Ciringiano, él les informara más al respecto.
Como han podido notar para navidad cambiamos la cinta a amarilla por lazos blancos, ya a muchos no les gustaba; pero he-mos descubierto que han roto el tape azul lo rompen continuamente y rompen el tape que sostiene los pew clips, porque per-miten que los jueguen con eso, les pido por favor que no rompan el blue tape, porque cada semana hay que cambiarlo y eso lleva horas de trabajo a los de mantenimiento y gasto de material, por favor respeten las áreas marcadas, es por su bien, se los digo con caridad.
