Dear parishioners,

Grace and peace to all. It’s incredible- but thank God we are about to end the first month of the year 2023, this should encourage us to continue growing in holiness and in contact with God.

I would like to remind you that next Sunday, February 5th, we will have our monthly Sunday Social, a beautiful opportunity to share and integrate as a community of faith. Our volunteers put a lot of effort into preparing the delicious coffee, donuts, fruit and everything else they welcome, so that we can stop by and have a nice conversation after each of the masses.

Like every year, at the beginning of the year we have the week dedicated to Catholic schools. This year it will be from January 29th to February 5th; it is a special week to pray and to promote our parish school. This year we thank God that the number of children has increased by a little, but we still have a lot to do. I invite you to help me pray for our faculty and staff of the school, they do and give a lot so that our children have a quality education; I am very happy with the work they do, God bless them for such a precious ministry. Today we will have a table in the lobby and we will promote our school after each mass, if you would like information do not hesitate to come and ask. I also want to invite those who have the ability to sponsor a child from our school, to be encouraged to help us. Many parents would like to send their children to our school but do not have enough resources. This school year we implemented a program called “One more child” that seeks donors who want to help a new child in our parish who wants to be educated with us. This would be a beautiful apostolate because you would be helping to form a Christian and citizen of the future. I invite you to pray for this intention. I also would like to thank in a special way those parishioners who have helped us with scholarships for the children of our school, you are truly a blessing. God bless you and on behalf of the children, I thank you.

This week we have sent out the 2022 contribution letters, so that you can present it at the time of doing your taxes. If you have not received it yet or have any questions about it, please do not hesitate to call the parish office. As a pastor I am very grateful for your support and love for the parish, thanks also to those who are making their donation online through Pushpay. Those who have not done so, I encourage you to do so. Your donations help the parish continue the work of evangelization.

Finally, I invite all our men to a retreat organized by the Knights of Columbus for next month on February 18th, it is not necessary to be a member of this group. The retreat will be at the Franciscan Monastery in Washington DC; it will be a day of faith and meditation prior to the start of Lent. If you would like to participate please call the parish office or contact one of our members who will be inviting our men after Masses in the coming weeks before February 18th.

I have you in my prayers,

Fr. Alex
