Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ Jesus:
This Sunday, the liturgy offers us an advanced flagrance of true Paschal joy. Today, the vestments of the celebrant are rose. It is a Laetere Sunday, inviting us to a peaceful joy. “Rejoice with Jerusalem, and be glad with her, all you that love her….” We say in the antiphon entrance today.
God wants us to be happy and optimistic. His will is always that we always see His cheerful presence in our lives; according to psychology, a person who lives sad and angry ends up depressed, sick in body and soul, and that is not a sign of God’s presence. Our joy must be founded in Christ, our friendship with Him, and the grace received through the sacraments of Penance and the Eucharist. Saint Teresa of Ávila distinguished happiness in two ways; “Holy Joy” which is the one that arises from within by the grace of God and the sacramental life, and “Foolish Joy” which is external joy and lasts very little and, in the end, the human being ends up unhappier and more bitter than before. Hopefully, this Sunday dedicated to joy, we seek to be joyful with the Lord despite life’s difficulties.
On a different subject, I want to inform you that we have had technical difficulties with our telephone system this week. I am very sorry because some of you called and we were not able to take your call. Our telephone system is not very good, and we are having serious problems with it. I hope that the phone company will soon solve this situation, although I hope to hire another company with better quality and efficiency by the summer. Thank you for your understanding.
Last Monday, we opened the parish gift shop, you can come and visit us, it is located in the parish office, as we are starting we have basic items of faith, as long as you come, we will see what interests you the most and thus we will buy more items. The objective is to evangelize and form us and at the same time have a profit for the parish.
I also want to invite you to participate in the celebration of Saint Joseph next Friday, March 19, at 7:00 pm; we will have a solemn bilingual Mass, this day, a sister of the Poor Sisters of Saint Joseph community will renew her vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience. Also, this day we will officially start the Year of Saint Joseph in our parish. During this extraordinary year dedicated to St. Joseph, I want to invite you to meditate and learn more about the adoptive father of Jesus.
Finally, I was pleased to see that more brothers and sisters have begun to return to Sunday Mass. Last Sunday, we saw a small increase. I keep praying that little by little, we return to face-to-face Masses. It is necessary to feed our soul with the sacraments. For those who are still thinking about it, I repeat the words of Jesus, “Do not be afraid…” with Jesus, we can do much more and overcome our fears. Welcome home again!

Queridos hermanos en Cristo.
Este domingo la liturgia nos ofrece un aroma anticipado de la alegría pascual. Los ornamentos del sacerdote este domingo son color Rosa, porque celebramos el domingo de “laetere”, que nos invita a una serena alegría. “Festejen a Jerusalén, gocen con ella, todos los que la aman…” con esas palabras se inicia la antífona de entrada hoy.
Dios nos quiere alegres y optimistas, su voluntad siempre es que veamos siempre su presencia alegre en nuestras vidas; porque según la psicología una persona que vive triste y enojada termina depresiva, enferma de cuerpo y alma y eso no es signo de la presencia de Dios. Nuestra alegría debe de estar fundada en Cristo, en nuestra amistad con El, y con la gracia recibida a través de los sacramentos de la penitencia y la eucaristía. Santa Teresa de Ávila distinguía la alegría en tipos; “Santa Alegría” que es la que surge desde dentro por la gracia de Dios y por la vida sacramental y a “Foolish Joy” que es la alegría externa y dura muy poco y al final el ser humano termina más triste y amargado. Ojala que este domingo dedicado a la alegría, busquemos ser alegres con el Señor a pesar de las dificultades de la vida.
Cambiando de tema, quiero comunicarles que esta semana hemos tenido muchos problemas con el sistema de teléfonos, me da mucha pena porque muchos de ustedes han llamado y no hemos podido tomar su llamada, el sistema de teléfonos no es muy bueno y estamos teniendo serios problemas, espero que la compañía solucione esta situación pronto, aunque espero que para el verano pueda contratar otra compañía de mejor calidad y eficiencia. Les pido su comprensión.
El pasado lunes hemos abierto la librería parroquial, ya puede pasar a visitarnos, está en la oficina parroquial, como estamos iniciando tenemos artículos básicos de la fe, en la medida que ustedes vengan iremos viendo que es lo que más les interesa y así iremos comprando más artículos. El objetivo es evangelizar y formarnos y al mismo tiempo tener una ganancia para la parroquia.
También quiero invitarles a participar de la celebración a San José el próximo viernes 19 de Marzo, a las 7:00pm, tendremos una misa solemne bilingüe, este día una de las religiosas de las “hermanas pobres de San José” renovara sus votos de pobreza, castidad y obediencia, también ese día iniciaremos oficialmente el año de San José en nuestra parroquia. Quiero invitarles a meditar y conocer más sobre el padre adoptivo de Jesús.
Y para finalizar me ha dado mucha alegría el ver que algunos de nuestros hermanos han comenzado a regresar a misa dominical, el pasado domingo vimos un pequeño incremento. Sigo orando para que poco a poco volvamos a las misas presenciales, es necesario alimentar nuestra alma con los sacramentos. Aquellos que aún lo están pensando, les repito las palabras de Jesús, “No tengas miedo…” con Jesús podemos hacer mucho más y vencer nuestros temores. Bienvenidos a casa nuevamente.
