Funerals

This post is also available in: Spanish

“The Christian funeral confers on the deceased neither a sacrament nor a sacramental, since he has ‘passed,’ beyond the sacramental economy. It is nonetheless  liturgical celebration of the Church. The ministry of the Church aims at expressing efficacious communion with the deceased, at the participation in that communion of the community gathered for the funeral and at the proclamation of eternal life to the community” (Catechism of the Catholic Church 1684)

If you have suffered the death of a loved one, we are very sorry for your loss and would like to help you arrange a Funeral Mass. We ask that you please not make arrangements for the date and time of the service until we are able to confirm availability of the church and the celebrating priest.

The first step in planning a funeral should be to contact a funeral home. The funeral home will coordinate with the church to plan the date and time and contact the music director.

Please call the Parish Office at (703) 354-8711 ext. 10 for more information about arrangements.

Unfortunately, we are no longer able to offer Memorial Masses at this time.
