Pastor’s Letter | Twenty-Ninth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Posted on October 20, 2020 View all News

Dear Parishioners,

Every weekend we meet either in person or virtually to share the bread of the word of God that nourishes us and gives us life, especially to understand the different situations that life puts in our path; every weekend is a gathering with the Master who instructs us and makes us reflect on our desire for holiness.

I want to start this letter by thanking many of you for participating in the procession of Our Lady of Fatima last weekend; the procession was a success. More than 250 people from our parish cultures prayed the Holy Rosary in different languages but with one voice. God bless you all.

As you may have already noticed, this week, the installation of the new sound system has begun.  It is one of the many projects that is being carried out with the collaboration of all of you.  I hope that now there is better reception and that you can listen to with more clarity the word that God addresses to our hearts. These church projects bring some inconveniences, but I ask for your understanding; all is being done to improve the house of the Lord. Also, this and next month, we will have to cancel activities, especially Adoration on Wednesdays, because the installation of the lights on the main altar of the temple will begin, and the entire ceiling of the temple will be painted so that there is more light in the church; the walls of the temple will also be painted. Your contribution to this project has already begun to bear fruit. Many thanks to all of you who have generously committed to our Capital Campaign.

This weekend we will release our financial report. David Cook, the chairman of the finance council or one of the council members, will speak at all masses to report on our parish’s economic situation. Thanks to God and your commitment to faith in our community, we are economically steady, but I cannot say the same about our school’s finances. I hope that soon, and with God’s help, we will find a solution to this situation that the school is going through.

Finally, I want to encourage all those who have not committed to our capital campaign to do so.  There are around 500 families that have, and there is much to rebuild in our facilities. You will soon receive a letter with information on future projects and also a form to make a commitment. I ask you to consider it and bring it to your personal prayer; I am genuinely concerned about some areas of our parish that need to be repaired as soon as possible, but I need your collaboration for this.

I wish you a happy and blessed weekend.

God bless you,

Fr Alex

Queridos parroquianos

P. Alex
